In 1978 I sat down to do a rare interview with Bobby Colomby, the drummer of Blood, Sweat and Tears who along with Danny Seraphine of Chicago is known as the first two to combine jazz and rock music. Colomby's "Spinning Wheel," "God Bless the Child" and "You've Made me so Very Happy" was touted for its innovative drumming, but Colomby didn't remain in the band (although he owns the name) and chose the business side of music instead.
