Hey Bobcats, it's Jenny with your Campus Update for November 10 through November 17. Let's get you set for the week—fast.
First up—the Women's Basketball team kicked off their season with a dominant 108-49 win over Swarthmore College at the Brandeis Invitational on November 7. Senior Caroline Peper led the charge with 19 points.
Next—the Men's Basketball team started strong, defeating Old Westbury 87-49 in their season opener on November 7. Newcomer Carnegie Johnson opened the scoring with a three-pointer, setting the tone for the game.
Finally—the Wrestling team clinched first place at the Ned McGinley Invitational on November 1, marking their third consecutive win at this event. Standouts included Alexander Diaz and Jacob Venezia, who both secured victories in their weight classes.
The Women's Basketball team continued their winning streak, securing their 63rd consecutive victory with a commanding performance against Swarthmore College. Senior Caroline Peper led the scoring with 19 points, while Brooke Batchelor and Zahra Alexander added 14 and 13 points, respectively. The team forced 46 turnovers, showcasing their defensive prowess.
On the Men's side, the Violets dominated Old Westbury in their season opener. Carnegie Johnson, in his debut, set the pace with an early three-pointer, leading to an 87-49 victory. The team looks forward to building on this strong start.
