The body of man discovered in the remote Silver Island Mountains of western Box Elder County on July 12, 2025, has been identified as 62-year-old Michael Steven Comstock of Sandy, the Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office announced July 28. Preliminary findings indicate Comstock died of exposure coupled with a cardiac event.
