Welcome back everyone, to the Hike’s Peak podcast, thank you for coming back to the mountain! The 2025 college football season is fully underway, with one of the more interesting week ones in recent memory going down. While a lot of Mountain West teams kicked their campaigns off the right way, the biggest storyline has to be the two favorites, Boise State and San Jose State, losing their opener in concerning fashion. We’ll break down both of those losses, talk about what went wrong and what has to change if they still want to compete for the CFP or a conference championship. We’ll also discuss who had the biggest win of the weekend, and which team that ultimately lost gained the most respect! To end the show, we’ll tackle two impossible questions, does anyone in the Mountain West still have a chance at the Playoff, and who is the best team in the conference at this point? Hold onto your hats, we have a lot of ground to cover for week one, let’s dive right into this!
