Car des solutions, il y en a ! Et c’est avec l’aide de Pierre, puériculteur, d’Olfa Lopez, chercheuse en astrophysique, du directeur de la Cité des Métiers de Charleroi, Olivier Marchal et de la députée fédérale Kattrin Jadin que nous les étudions et débattons dans cet épisode. Dans le dernier épisode de BTBG, on s’attaque au principal obstacle auquel font face ceux qui travaillent à l’opposé des stéréotypes : le regard des autres.
Nos témoins de cette semaine racontent les moues sceptiques, les reculs et parfois même les tentatives de sape qu’engendrent leur genre. Difficile à éviter, ces réactions ne sont pour autant pas immuables. Car si beaucoup ont à narrer des anecdotes impliquant une forme de rejet, tous ont aussi eu la confirmation que leur présence est avant tout une richesse, la source d’une bénéfique diversité.
Derrière les voix, en filigrane, on perçoit donc un message d’espoir. Les temps changent et il faut plus que jamais oser prendre sa place, fusse-t-elle sur une rive qui nous semblait si lointaine il y a peu.

Après avoir étudié l’influence des conceptions culturelles et de l’enseignement sur nos choix d’orientation, Bon taf Bon genre s’est penché sur le rôle des médias. Cet épisode passe de la sous-représentativité des femmes sur les plateaux télés à l’influence des contenus médiatiques, en passant par les manques de modèle et de soutien financier dans la production cinématographique.
Afin de mieux comprendre ce pouvoir, nous sommes allés à la rencontre des experts Marie-France Malonga et Mathieu de Wasseige et de la réalisatrice belge Marta Bergman. Pour comprendre les clivages de genres dans les métiers, BTBG est remonté à une des sources du problème : l'éducation. En effet, les parents, l’école et la société en général produisent les stéréotypes de genre dans les métiers et orientent régulièrement les jeunes vers des métiers dits « de filles » ou « de garçons ». Mais de quelle façon ? Comment laisser la liberté aux jeunes de choisir parmi une palette complète de métiers et ce, sans en biaiser leur vision ? Les professeurs sont-ils, premièrement, conscients de ce "genrage" et, deuxièmement, préparés à aborder la thématique des métiers de manière plus inclusive ? Si des initiatives existent, l’école, seule, a-t-elle les moyens de ses ambitions ? Comment nos institutions peuvent-elles épauler l’enseignement ? Et, une fois dans le monde professionnel, quelles sont les mesures prises pour favoriser concrètement l’équité des chances ? Assurément, il y a là aussi une dimension politique à ne pas négliger.

Dans ce premier épisode, BTBG s’attaque aux mythes, croyances et représentations qui façonnent nos conceptions de l’homme et de la femme et influencent ainsi leur place dans le monde professionnel. La persistance, notamment, du mythe de l’homme viril et de la femme douce, encore profondément ancré dans l’imaginaire collectif, impacte directement bien des aspects de notre vie quotidienne. Ce sont ces différents aspects, résultats de la plasticité cérébrale mais présentés comme aptitudes innées, que nous regroupons sous le nom « d’héritage genré ». À vos écouteurs, aujourd’hui, on le déconstruit.

Notre personnage fictif croisera le chemin de témoins et d'experts qui tenteront de comprendre les racines des stéréotypes de genre dans les métiers et d'analyser les évolutions au fil des siècles.
