Police officer Jack Hibbert, who was shot multiple times while responding to the Bondi terror attack in December, had a benign tumour discovered behind his eye during surgery for his gunshot wounds. The 22-year-old officer, who had only been in the force for four months before the attack, underwent surgery in late April to remove the tumour and is now recovering in hospital. Police Legacy and community members have raised approximately $1 million to support Hibbert and his family during his recovery.
