      • China and the United States have agreed to reduce tariffs by May 14, with China retaining a 10% tariff on American goods while the US retains a 10% reciprocal tariff on Chinese goods. Additionally, China has agreed to help the US “take aggressive actions to stem the flow of fentanyl and other precursors from China to illicit drug producers in North America.”

      • Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent: In January 2020, President Trump produced a template. We had an excellent trade agreement with China, and the Biden administration chose not to enforce it. The Chinese delegation basically told us that once President Biden came into office, they just ignored their obligations. So we all already have a large framework.

        The other thing to remember here, Jonathan, is that this is a pause down to 10 %. The April second level for China is 34 %. So we will be working to see where their final reciprocal number ends up. The negotiations are a combination of tariffs, non-tariff trade barriers, currency manipulation, and subsidies of labor and capital.

        US and China Reach 90-Day Tariff Rollback Agreement After High-Level Talks in Geneva

        • In a major win for President Donald Trump’s America First trade doctrine, the United States and Communist China have agreed to a 90-day rollback 
        • Under the deal, the US will slash its previously imposed 145% tariffs on Chinese imports down to 30%, while China will match that with a reduction of its retaliatory 125% duties to just 10%, The Financial Times reports. This move, though temporarily softening the blow of Trump’s full-spectrum trade offensive, keeps pressure squarely on the Chinese Communist Party to fundamentally shift its abusive trade behavior.
          • The US wisely opted to keep in place a separate 20% tariff specifically targeting Chinese pharmaceutical ingredients used to make the deadly opioid, fentanyl. It’s a clear signal: America is no longer playing nice with enablers of our nation’s drug epidemic.

             Secretary Bessent describing   how Chinese ‘overproduction’ is now reaching the shores of partnered nations, The goods themselves are not ‘generic’ in nature, they are branded high-end products awaiting labeling and distribution once their component part of the global tariff is determined.  This is part of the ‘urgency’ motive for Beijing to seek some understanding of the timeline.

                Dem Mayor Arrested for Storming ICE Facility Plays the Victim on CNN, Then Damning Video Comes Out
                •  Democrat politicians tried to break into an ICE detention facility.
                • Involved in the incident were Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, Rep. LaMonica McIver, and Rep. Rob Menendez Jr. Yes, the latter is the son of former Sen. Bob Menendez, who is currently in jail on a bribery conviction involving gold bars. All three Democrat House members attempted to shove their way through a group of ICE agents who were guarding the first checkpoint into the facility.

                  • One Democrat was arrested, though. That would be Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, who went even further in his confrontation with ICE agents. Naturally, after he was charged and released, he ran off to CNN to play the victim.

                   

                  • The hypocrisy here is simply stunning. You’ve got Democrats storming facilities and then their supporters claiming it’s “traitorous” to arrest them because “In America, you cannot arrest your political opponents.” What happened to “no one is above the law?” Democrats really shifted gears on that in a hurry, didn’t they?
