On August 22nd The Inlander hosted a live Miller Cane wrap party at the Big Dipper in Spokane. The event was hosted by best-selling author Jess Walter. He joined Miller Cane Author Samuel Ligon on stage to talk about the process of writing a serial novel. He returns home to save the young daughter of the woman he loves, taking her with him on his roadshow across the worn-out heart of America, staying one step ahead of what’s after them. Buckle up and come along for the ride!Beginning in September 2018, fiftly installments of the novel appeared each Thrusday in the Inlander, Spokane’s free alternative weekly newspaper, with support from Sprint. Audio segments broadcast the following Thursday on Northwest Arts Review. NOTE: Most Miller Cane podcasts have been removed for now. After finishing the serial, Sam took several months off, then started rewriting the novel, cutting in places, expanding in others, and working at a significantly slower pace.
