Important upcoming election conversation about all the ways in which we allow politics to confuse us, divide us, entertain us, and stifle us.

[email protected]Piper M. Hendricks is an advocacy expert with a passion for storytelling, justice, and brain science. As the CEO of Stories Change Power, she helps people who want to make a difference in their neighborhoods, communities, and country be effective advocates.
Piper jokes that she is a recovering lawyer and a recovering workaholic. After graduating with honors from the University of Michigan law school, she began her legal career at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in San José, Costa Rica, followed by several years in "Big Law." After a judicial clerkship in Miami, Florida, she switched to "Big Causes at Small Organizations," starting with Human Rights USA and International Rights Advocates, where she led impact litigation around the world, including Liberia, Colombia, and Guatemala.
Well over a decade ago, Piper decided to reach audiences beyond courtrooms and turned to advocacy with a specialty in documentary film. She later brought policy and storytelling together in the field of advocacy communications at several nonpartisan organizations, including Habitat for Humanity International, CIVIC (the Center for Civilians in Conflict), and IHEP (the Institute for Higher Education Policy).
Having chosen a nontraditional career path, Piper has employed storytelling with a purpose in a variety of formats; whether in the courtroom, on the silver screen, or on Capitol Hill, she champions change to promote opportunity for all.
You can read more about Piper's vision in her founder's message. Before AI posts took over Medium, she wrote there about all forms of fitness – physical, mental, social, and civic.
