Between seasons of The Next Generation, this week Hailing Frequencies takes a small diversion from its continuing mission by covering Star Trek: The Motion Picture! "Ensign" Harry gets his first extended look at The Original Series cast, and compares them to his experiences with the TNG crew. When the Enterprise is called to handle an approaching threat to Earth, Kirk must get the old band back together to face V'Ger - the glow cloud of doom. Also, Ex-Captain Decker has the worst day ever. Break out the popcorn, get ready for extended shots of starship models, and join Ensign Harry and Lt. Cmdr Scott as they boldly go over Star Trek: The Motion Picture.
