Our life is filled with God’s boundless love and blessings. Sometimes He even gives us what I call a bonus gift. I can recall a number of them. One of these is regarding my friend Amy. She and I became best friends at age 16 when her family moved to our small Indiana town and became members of our congregation. But after just a few years, they moved away. Gradually correspondence became sparse, and we lost touch.
Then, 40 years after that teenage friendship, I flew to California to attend my son’s ordination into the pastoral ministry. Lo, and behold, Amy was the organist for the service. What a surprise! What a blessing! Since then, we have continued to communicate. Now, both in our 90’s, we cherish our friendship once again.
