As the outlook for the powers of the Alpha and Beta quadrants grew increasingly grim, the Romulan Empire turned to drafting soldiers from their dirty little secret: The people of Romii, known to the rest of the galaxy as Remus. The Remen were at worst 2nd class citizens of the Empire and at worst slave labor, their population subjugated when then violent Vulcan pilgrims settled on a twin planet in the system. A planet that would become Romulus.
