In this final episode on the book of Haggai, we talk about the third oracle, found in 2:10-19.  This is Haggai's conversation with the priests about the holiness (or rather, unholiness) of the people.

We then look at Haggai's fourth and last oracle in 2:20-23, an encouraging oracle to the leader of the returnees! These three verses carry echoes of past books like Exodus and Daniel and there is a lot going on here. I ask the students, "Why did Haggai use this imagery, and what was he communicating through it?" and we have another discussion about their thoughts.
