It is one of the seven wisdom books in the Septuagint, along with Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon, Job, and Wisdom of Solomon. As a deuterocanonical book, it is part of the Apocrypha. Sirach emphasizes wisdom, moral conduct, and the importance of following the Torah. It addresses various themes such as humility, friendship, family life, and the pursuit of wisdom, drawing heavily from earlier biblical texts, particularly Proverbs. The book also praises the heroes of Hebrew history, highlighting their faith and virtue. Sirach aims to provide practical advice for living a righteous life and fostering a strong community.
