Hermetic Tradition: Osiris to Franklin

Book of the Dead - Unas Continued

Listen Later

This lecture explores the deepest roots of the Hermetic tradition by tracing it back not to late antiquity, but to the earliest written religious texts in human history: the Egyptian Pyramid Texts and the so-called “Book of the Dead.” Using the myth of Osiris, the role of Thoth (later Hermes), and the architecture and language of the Pyramid of Unas, this presentation argues that the central spiritual task of humanity has always been learning how to “come forth” consciously—through both life and death—by contacting everlastingness. Language, ritual speech, hymns, and incantations are presented not as superstition but as the very structures of consciousness itself, enabling the soul to take its rightful place in reality. Thoth/Hermes emerges as the divine mediator and healer, guaranteeing wholeness, legitimacy, and renewal for individuals, minds, civilizations, and even the gods, revealing the Hermetic tradition as an ancient, continuous wisdom stream devoted to awakening humanity to its eternal nature.
