As we close out 2020, and even with the proximity of Christmas, I was looking to cover an upbeat and cheery book. I had "The Worst Hard Time" sitting on my desk, waiting to be covered, but thought I'd wait until after the new year, as it tells the story of an extremely difficult time in our history. Dread thought differently. He suggested it would be a great book from which we can all draw some perspective on our own current hard time, the pandemic of 2020. This is an introductory episode to a piece of US history that I knew little about, but am extremely grateful to have studied and shared: The Dust Bowl.
