BOOM and Gloom

Yes, I have a 5 step plan to fix Don Waddle's mistake...and it involves Zach Werenski.  I'll discuss this and more, including the few bright spots on the Jackets roster right now (their young core) and the veterans who are disappointing.  

Our hopes for a hot start out of the gate for the Columbus Blue Jackets have fizzled.  Now 3-5, it has been difficult for even the most optimistic fans to stay positive.  And as for a pessimist like me, it has been a nightmare start for this team.  In this episode, I'll talk about what is going on with the Jackets (same ol,' same ol') and what I would do if I were in Don Waddell's shoes.   Plenty of venting awaits!

Through the first 7 games of the season, the Jackets are 3-4.  Not optimal, but not horrible.  In this episode I'll talk about the Jackets current state of affairs and what I believe needs to happen to get this team to start stringing wins together. If you enjoy hearing a 50 year old man complain about his favorite team, you have come to the right place.  I'll gripe about Conor Garland, Adam Fantilli's slow start, and much more!

Normally season previews are done before a season starts.  Well, not this season preview!  Jackets are two games into the 2026-2027 season.  I'll talk about that and give my opinions and analysis regarding players and staff.  AND, my playoff prediction.  

This is a knee jerk episode!  I recorded this just a couple of hours after learning about the trade of Karill Marchenko to the Toronto Maple Leafs.  I'll talk about the trade, the signing of Adam Fantilli, and add my thoughts about the new Columbus Blue Jackets TV Network.  Keep in mind that I recorded this quickly without a whole lot of time to process the trade today.  Take anything I say, including the quoted contract amounts, player information, and statistics with a grain of salt.  

I've been waiting for Adam Fantilli to sign to put out a new episode.  Since that STILL hasn't happened, I figure I would just chime in with a new episode and discuss the situation.  Time to play the blame game.  I'll also discuss the debacle that is Karill Marchenko and some other tidbits of CBJ news as training camp moves on...without Fantilli.  

I am back to complain more about the Blue Jackets!  I wish I had more positive things to talk about but these days in Blue Jackets Land have been pretty dark and dreary.  In this episode I'll talk about the departures of Bob McElligott and Jeff Svoboda (and why I feel it was a bad team decision to let them go), the new ECHL affiliate for the Jackets, and why I yearn for the "good ol' days" of CBJ hockey.

The Blue Jackets have locked up Charlie Coyle, signing him to a six year contract.  What else could and should be done to get this team back to the playoffs next season?  In this episode, I'll pretend that I take over the General Manager duties of the Jackets and discuss what I would do.  From players to coaches to even jerseys, I'll discuss the changes I would make.
