Our final episode of Black History Month features Erica Jones, Middle School Assistant Principal at The American School in London, England. In a discussion that directly correlates to Black history and the Black experience, Erica talks to us about why creating a curriculum that speaks to the depth of Black history is of major importance to her, and how she works to amplify those students whom the system does not always serve. Erica talks to us about the dangers of performative allyship, and the ways in which it shows up, and ends our conversation through quoting and paying tribute to the Black historical figures in her life that have helped her to find her real true love: herself.
