As a veteran of the shuttle era, Charlie Blackwell-Thompson finalized payloads for the Boeing Company and then worked with NASA to oversee vital go/no-go checks before flight. But she’s taken on a new role as NASA’s first ever female launch director and the person overseeing liftoffs for the Artemis Program -- the series of missions that'll put the first woman and the next man on the moon.
