If you are a nomad like we are then understanding the laws of travel, visas, and residency is vital. In this episode of Borderless Impact we break down some of the rules of staying in Chile and what your options are. This comes with the giant disclaimer that all these are subject to change once COVID is over and that we are not lawyers. So it might not need to be said, but take our info with a grain of salt, no one knows exactly how things will turn out. That being said, this is a fun episode for us and we hope you guys appreciate all the info.
Spanish is a beautiful language spoken all around the world and not surprisingly many native Spanish speakers talk in a variety of different dialects. Once you land in Chile you will quickly realize that Chilean Spanish can only be described as unique compared to that of other countries. So in today's episode we sit down with Claudia again to discuss all the ways that Chilean Spanish is unique and divertido (fun). It is important while visiting Chile, or any Spanish speaking country, that you at least attempt to speak Spanish as much as possible. So listen in to see what a local has to say about the language and what all travelers need to know. Also please forgive us on the audio quality of Jordan's microphone, we promise this won't happen again!
One of our favorite Chilean cities with one of our favorite Chileans, we finish our interview with Valentina on a discussion about the incredible city of Valparaiso. This city has some beautifully eclectic and colorful architecture that spans over miles of rolling hills. Widely considered one of the best cities to visit in Chile (and way ahead in polling over Santiago), Valparaiso is a must see Chilean destination. Valentina tells us all about this awe inspiring city and all the fun things you need to know about it before your next visit. Thanks for listening to Borderless Impact. Don't forget to subscribe to the podcast and check out all our episodes on Chile.
In this episode another one of our fan favorites, Valentina, returns to tell us more about Chile. In this one we discuss the amazing Cajon del Maipo, or Maipo Canyon for those non-Spanish speakers. This area of Chile is famous for all the dinosaur fossils that have been discovered here, and is definitely a great spot to check out. Maipo Canyon is a wonderful place to go hiking, camping, or exploring the scenery for dinosaur remains and volcanoes. This canyon will fulfill the dreams of lots of young kids and adults alike as it lets you pretend you are wondering the jungles of Jurassic Park. Of course we would love to thank Valentina for chatting with us again, please check out her insta @flaca.travelover and show her some love! As always please leave us a rating or comment or whatever feels right @borderlessimpact or go to borderlessimpact.com for more info, thank you all!
Welcome back to Borderless Impact and part 2 of our interview with Chilean chef Mario. Last time Mario told us about all the amazing homestyle and street food options that Chile has to offer. In this episode, Mario breaks down all the best Chilean drinks that everyone must try at least once in their life. Remember you can enjoy all of Mario’s recommendations at home, in Chile, or possibly at work. We had a blast recording with Mario and we hope you guys have enjoyed tuning in! In this episode of Borderless Impact we dive into everyone’s favorite subject, delicious food. We have a real treat for you as we talk with local Chilean chef, Mario. Mario is a chef for a popular Chilean restaurant and one of our new favorite people. We discuss what Mario describes as good Chilean home cooking and all the best authentic food and restaurants you need to try while in Chile. This is another part 1 episode and in part 2 with Mario we discuss Chilean beverages. Disclaimer, Mario’s English is about as good as Jordan’s Spanish (not great), so bear with us a little more with this episode if you are not a Spanish speaker. Freddi does a fabulous job translating and we feel as though the message and good vibes of this episode about food transcends translation and is truly a universal language. We hope you enjoy and please let us know how you feel about this episode by leaving a comment or reaching out on Instagram @borderlessimpact
In this episode of Borderless Impact we conclude our interview with Claudia on the quirks and nuances of Chile and its people. This part of the interview was focused on the intricacies of how Chileans greet each other and how that differs from our respective Australian and American (U.S.-Chileans are technically American too) point of views. We also delve into what it is like to dine out at a Chilean restaurant as figuring out restaurant etiquette can often be some of the most intimidating parts of experiencing a new place or traveling in general. We could never thank Claudia enough for all her help on bringing this entire series to you. To help us out with that, please tell her thank you by following her on instagram @claumargue_ and subscribe to Borderless Impact.
