John 3:5 Titus 3:5-8

The Nicene Creed declares the identity of Jesus based on

scripture and the witness of the Apostles and early church fathers. It is that

declaration of our hope though Jesus and that gives us joy even in difficult

times like the present.

Paul and the other early disciples understood

what Christ had done on the cross and just how important is is that we realize

Christ died for us even while we were still sinners. What amazing love God must

have for us. This is a generous love as Titus notes. God’s love is always

generous and as we see the scarcity mentality around us, the fear of

“running out” taking over, we can still rest in the assurance of what

is truly important, our salvation, guaranteed by Jesus on the cross. Everything

we experience in this world is temporary while everything about God is eternal.
