Harry always knew he would go back one day...
Eighteen years ago he made a decision that drove him from the place he knew and loved. In those early years he carved out a life for himself and somehow found a semblance of peace. However, every waking moment during those long aching years he was haunted by what happened when he was a boy. He had never forgotten that warm, carefree girl with the laughing eyes.
For Judy Saunders, the pain of her past has left her deeply scarred. Cut off from her family and stuck in a stormy marriage to a man she doesnt love, the distant memories of her first love are her only source of comfort.
Now for the first time in all those years, Harry is heading back and he needs to know the outcome of what happened all those years ago. And most importantly, he needs to find forgiveness.
Members Reviews:
thoroughly enjoyable
If you could sum up Born Bad in three words, what would they be?
Funny interesting suspense
What did you like best about this story?
I lived the fact the story kept moving keeping interest
What about Mark Meadowss performance did you like?
He was really good kept in character and did make me giggle especially when he did tom's voice for the first time
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes I always enjoy a Josephine Cox novel
Any additional comments?
Great listen would highly recommend it
throughly good read
very gripping storyline, strong caricatures the only thing I had against the narration is Toms voice. well worth reading.
All too 'convenient'
What disappointed you about Born Bad?
The fact that no time lapse was written in so everything happened at once, even though it was obvious and logical thing would/wouldn't happen as they did. Did not make the story plausible at all. It would have made a good Mills & Boon book as it was so shallow. The only unexpected thing was the event after the accident, the one thing I wasn't expecting
What could Josephine Cox have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
She could have written in time lapses; made the non-existent 'search' a search. Left out some of the characters and concentrated on the main ones. It was too sugar sweet, despite the violence, too much padding and not enough substance
Would you listen to another book narrated by Mark Meadows?
As long as there weren't any children in it. His masculine voices were superb, the female ones acceptable, but the boy was diabolical spoiling the rest of his reading.
What character would you cut from Born Bad?
The aunt and uncle
