In Charles Dickens' classic "A Christmas Carol," we meet a character named Tiny Tim. Crippled and ill, and without hope for recovery or healing, Tiny Tim's bleak future is sure to be marked by struggle and pain, barring a serious divine intervention. This Sunday, we will meet a figure in 2 Samuel whose situation is not unlike that of Tiny Tim's, and we will also see parallels with how sinful man is mired in hopelessness. While we still suffer from the fall, because of Jesus Christ, we are welcome to the riches of God's table!
