Lets talk about privilege. How do you succeed in life when you are born female, black and belong to one of the poorest most acutely affected areas by the armed conflict in Colombia?
Yineth Rentería´s life and career will tell you how. She is no ordinary changemaker. With only 22 years old, she is a professional accountant and recepient of many national and international awards, like a full scholarship to complete her undergrad and a Martin Luther King Jr. Fellowship.

In Episode 2 you will listen Yineth’s humble beginnings and hear about the unwavering support of her family to pursue an education. She surpassed many obstacles and knocked many doors, and failed many times but never stopped pursuing and achieving her dreams. At the time of the recording she was the director of operations of Mentor4U a startup where education, social innovation, entrepreneurship and youth leadership intersects. She is currently the National Leader for Mentoring at ICETEX (The Government of Colombia’s educational credit organization). Her goal is to become Minister of Education. Try stopping her.
