A few days before my father passed, he knew his time was almost up.
He had spent nearly his entire life teaching people how to think, set goals, make decisions, and change the direction of their lives.
And in those final days, he taught me one more thing.
It was not about money.
It was not about setting a bigger goal.
It was about something much quieter:
Intuition.
In this deeply personal episode of Born to Win, I share the final lesson my father, Bob Proctor, impressed upon me before he passed away—and why I have thought about it almost every day since.
My father taught me many things throughout my life.
He taught me to decide what I want before I know how I will get it.
He taught me that decision-making is a skill.
He taught me to look for the good, practice gratitude, and forgive for my own peace of mind.
But near the end of his life, he brought me back to something even more fundamental:
Listen to that quiet inner voice.
Trust what you know inside.
In this episode, we explore:
One of the things I have come to understand is that intuition is rarely loud.
Fear is loud.
Other people’s opinions are loud.
Your phone is loud.
Your responsibilities are loud.
Intuition tends to whisper.
And if your life is filled with noise from the moment you wake up until the moment you go to sleep, it becomes very difficult to hear it.
So in this episode, I also share three simple practices I use to strengthen that connection.
I think often about why my father chose this lesson at the end.
He knew there would eventually be no more phone calls.
No more:
“Dad, what should I do?”
So instead of leaving me with another answer...
He gave me a way to find my own.
He pointed me back to myself.
And today, I want to pass that lesson on to you.

Let’s face it. We live in a noisy world.
News. Social media.
There is always something competing for our attention.
And if we are not careful, the chaos happening around us begins becoming chaos within us.
In this episode of Born to Win, I share five practices I personally use to protect my peace, clear my thinking, and stay focused on what is positive and possible.
These are not ideas I studied once and forgot.
They are things I use in my own life.
And many of them were shaped by the time I spent with my father, Bob Proctor.
The first is something Dad and I used to do during our early-morning phone calls.
And every time we did it, something interesting happened.
We felt better.
That is what happens when you deliberately place your attention on what is good.
Inside this episode, we explore five ways to create greater peace:
• Talk good behind people’s backs and live in gratitude
I also share why Cory deliberately trained her social media feed to show her things that make her smile—and how I have done the same thing with positive lessons and ideas.
Your phone does not have to become a pipeline for anxiety.
You can decide what you feed your mind.
Another principle I explore comes from Neville and The Power of Awareness.
You do not have to wait for your circumstances to improve before you experience peace.
You can use your imagination to see yourself already living the good you desire.
That does not mean ignoring reality.
It means refusing to allow your current circumstances to dictate your consciousness.
And when life begins feeling overwhelming, I come back to one very simple question:
What can I do right now?
Not everything.
One thing.
One phone call.
There is enormous peace in stopping the fight with the entire future and simply showing up fully for the present.
Finally, I share how I begin my own mornings.
Before the news.
Before social media.
Before other people’s agendas enter my mind.
I take quiet time to think about what I want, how I want to show up, and what I can do that day to move one step closer to my goals.
Because the way you start your day matters.
You can begin by reacting to the world.
Or you can begin with intention.
The world may continue being noisy.
You may not be able to control everything happening around you.
But you have far more control than you think over what you allow to happen within you.
Choose gratitude.
Choose possibility.
Choose peace.

More from Brian Proctor:
Money carries more emotion than almost anything else in life.
For many people, it becomes tied to self-worth, security, status, freedom, and even love.
But in this episode of Born to Win, I want to look at money from a completely different perspective.
This is not a lesson about budgeting.
It is not about saving more.
And it is not simply about earning more.
It is about examining the beliefs you have accepted about money—and understanding how those beliefs may be quietly shaping your financial results.
Most of us inherited ideas about money long before we ever earned our first paycheck.
Maybe you heard:
“Money doesn’t grow on trees.”
“Rich people are greedy.”
“There’s never enough.”
“We’re not those kinds of people.”
Hear an idea often enough and eventually it begins to feel like truth.
But familiarity does not make something true.
My father, Bob Proctor, taught me that money is energy—and energy must circulate.
Money itself is neutral.
It can be directed intelligently.
It can create value.
It can build businesses.
It can employ people.
It can support families.
It can fund ideas.
And when you understand how prosperity really works, you begin asking a very different question.
Instead of:
“How do I hold on to what I have?”
You begin asking:
“How can I create more value?”
Inside this episode, we explore:
• How childhood beliefs about money quietly shape adult results
One of the most important things my father taught me is that your income is not simply determined by how hard you work.
It is connected to the value you bring.
That changes the conversation completely.
Instead of constantly asking:
“How can I make more money?”
Ask:
“Who must I become to create more value?”
Because prosperity is not simply something you accumulate.
It is a way of thinking.
It begins with your beliefs.
It grows through service.
And it expands through value.
So this week, pay attention to the thoughts you have about money.
Do not judge them.
Just notice them.
And when an old limiting belief appears, ask yourself:
Is this actually true?
Then take one action that increases the value you provide to someone else.
Because your relationship with money begins long before money ever reaches your hands.

More from Brian Proctor:
Have you ever had a goal you could not stop thinking about?
Not in an unhealthy way. In a way that gave you energy.
A goal that made you want to get out of bed earlier, make one more call, take one more step, and keep moving even when the evidence was not there yet.
I call that a pleasant obsession.
In this episode of Born to Win, I explore why becoming emotionally engaged with a meaningful goal can completely change the way you think, act, and experience your life.
I share a story from my own life, when I was twenty-eight years old and building a portfolio of investment properties.
I was intensely focused.
I had a target.
I had momentum.
And people around me could feel the energy I was bringing into the room.
That is what happens when you become pleasantly obsessed with something that truly matters to you.
I also revisit a story my father shared in You Were Born Rich about John and Pat, a couple who wanted to own a home despite having very little evidence that it was possible.
What changed their lives was not suddenly having more resources.
It was making a committed decision.
Once they became emotionally involved with the goal, their focus changed, their effort changed, and opportunities they had previously overlooked began becoming visible.
Inside this episode, we explore:
• What a “pleasant obsession” really is
One of the biggest lessons I have learned is this:
The goal is not really the point.
Who you become while pursuing it is.
There have been seasons of my own life when I lost some of that intensity.
I was still moving forward.
But I was not moving with the same fire.
And when I recognized that, I realized I did not simply want to get it back.
I needed to.
Because there is something about waking up with a meaningful goal that stretches you, excites you, and demands growth from you.
It makes life feel vibrant.
So let me ask you:
What are you pleasantly obsessed with right now?
And if you cannot answer that question...
Maybe it is time to ask another one:
What do I really want?
If money, time, and other people’s opinions were removed from the equation...
What would make you come alive?
Find that.
Write it down.
Become emotionally involved with it.
Then take one step toward it today.
Because this is your life.
Not a rehearsal.
Decide what you want — and begin.

What is the real reason most people never become successful?
It is not a lack of education.
Very often, it is indecision.
In this episode of Born to Win, we explore why indecision can quietly keep you stuck for years—and why learning to make clear, committed decisions is one of the most important skills you can develop.
Indecision does not usually look dramatic.
It looks like waiting.
And while all of that is happening, life keeps moving.
One of the biggest reasons people avoid decisions is fear of what other people will think.
But this is your life.
If a positive decision is not hurting anyone else, you cannot allow someone else's expectations to become the steering wheel for your future.
Inside this episode, we explore:
• Why indecision is one of the biggest killers of success
My father taught me something I have never forgotten:
Never ask the opinion of someone who has not gone where you want to go.
That does not mean ignoring people you love.
It means understanding that every person gives advice through the limits of their own experience, beliefs, and expectations.
At some point, you have to go within.
You have to ask:
What do I really want?
Then you have to make the decision.
Because the moment you stop hedging and choose a direction, something changes.
Chaos begins to leave.
And then the next one appears.
There is no perfect time.
There is only now.
Do not spend your life playing a supporting role in someone else's movie.
This is your life.
Make the decision.

I had something most students of my father never had. I got to watch Bob Proctor when there was no stage, no seminar, and nobody taking notes.
I saw him at the kitchen table.
In this episode of Born to Win, I want to share five of the most important things my father personally taught me—not simply lessons I studied, but principles I watched him live for more than sixty years.
These five ideas have profoundly shaped the way I think, make decisions, handle difficult situations, and live my life today.
My father was one of the most decisive people I've ever known.
When I brought him a big idea, he rarely started by asking me how I was going to accomplish it.
He would ask:
“Brian, do you really want this?”
Because if the desire was strong enough, he believed the way would begin revealing itself one step at a time.
I also watched him deliberately choose where he placed his attention.
He looked for what was good.
And perhaps the most meaningful lesson came near the end of his life.
Dad told me to keep talking to him after he was gone.
Ask the questions.
He taught me that intuition would continue guiding me if I was willing to hear it—and courageous enough to act on what I heard.
None of these principles are complicated.
That may be precisely why they're so powerful.
My father didn't simply understand these ideas intellectually.
He practiced them.
Again and again.
Until they became part of who he was.
I can't hand you my father.
But I can hand you some of what he handed me.
And I hope you'll take these five lessons and make them part of the way you live your own life.

Do you have a real goal right now?
Not a wish.
I mean an actual goal — written down, specific, dated, and clear enough that you could recite it right now if I asked you.
In this episode of Born to Win, I explore one of the most important ideas my father, Bob Proctor, spent more than fifty years teaching:
Your results are not random.
They are closely connected to the way you are using your mind — intentionally or by default.
Most people do not actually set goals.
They have wishes.
They want to make more money.
But without a clear target, the mind simply keeps repeating what is already familiar.
A real goal changes that.
It gives your thinking direction.
In this episode, we explore:
• The difference between a wish and a real goal
One of the biggest mistakes people make is waiting until they know exactly how they are going to achieve something before they commit to it.
You do not need the entire path.
You need a direction.
Then you take one step today.
And another tomorrow.
The way begins revealing itself through action.
My father’s instruction around goal cards was incredibly simple:
Write your goal.
So here is the question I want you to think about:
Are you living by default...
Or have you consciously chosen where you are going?
Stop wishing.
Start aiming.
Write the goal down.

What does it really mean to “act as if”?
It does not mean pretending to be successful.
It does not mean ignoring reality, performing for other people, or acting like everything is fine when it is not.
“Act as if” means beginning to think, choose, and behave in harmony with the person you are becoming.
In this episode of Born to Win, I share what my father, Bob Proctor, truly meant by this often-misunderstood phrase—and why lasting success begins with identity before it ever shows up as a result.
We'll explore:
• Why acting as if is not the same as “faking it until you make it”
People often believe success changes a person.
But more often, the person changes first—and then success becomes possible.
Every thought, choice, habit, and standard becomes another vote for the person you are choosing to be.
And one day, you realize you are no longer acting as if.
You have become that person.

What do you really want?
It sounds like a simple question. But for many people, it is one of the hardest questions to answer honestly.
In this episode of Born to Win, I explore why so many people become busy maintaining their lives without ever taking the time to consciously decide where they want those lives to go.
We respond to emails.
None of those things are wrong. But there is a difference between maintaining your life and creating it.
My father, Bob Proctor, asked people this question for decades:
“What do you really want?”
And almost immediately, people would begin describing what they did not want.
They did not want debt.
But knowing what you want to avoid does not give your mind a destination.
In this episode, I explore:
• Why clarity gives your life direction
You do not need to know every step. You do not need to see the entire path. But you do owe yourself an honest answer to this question:
What do you really want?
Because once you choose a direction, your thoughts, decisions, and daily actions can begin moving into alignment with it.
Your future is coming. It is time to become the director.

What does it really mean to "hold the image?"
Growing up with Bob Proctor as my father, I heard those words almost every day.
"Hold the image."
"If you can see it in your mind, you can hold it in your hand."
They're inspiring statements—but they're much more than positive thinking or visualization.
In this episode, I unpack what my father truly meant by those words and why the picture you consistently hold in your mind quietly shapes the decisions you make, the opportunities you notice, and ultimately the life you create.
Every meaningful achievement begins twice—first mentally, then physically. The challenge is learning to remain faithful to your vision long before the evidence appears.
Inside this episode, we'll explore:
I also share personal stories from growing up with my father and explain why, even today, I still hear his voice reminding me:
"Hold the image."
Because when you choose your vision instead of reacting to your circumstances, you begin creating your life on purpose.
