KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • When I was little I never knew who I was, I was always in the shadow of my sister and my parents. While I was writing my memoirs I processed a lot and it was very therapeutic. I went from flying an aeroplane to an air balloon. I was in the Air Force training new recruits in boot camp for five years and eight years in the Navy where I helped train Marines, so there were a lot of experiences there.
  • Depression runs in my family. I got made bankrupt because I wasn’t looking after my finances. I lost everything, didn’t have any money left, I had no job and no way to pay the rent, and I considered suicide at one point. But, apparently I’m meant to be here for some reason and now I help other people, answering questions on Quora and teaching stress classes to the senior citizens in my senior community as well as volunteering.
  • To beat stress is easy: Just take a few deep, slow breaths with your eyes closed and concentrate on everything around you. As you inhale and experience all the love that is around you and coming into you, when you exhale you give that love back to the world and the cosmos. It’s easy to do and you can do that any time, anywhere.

BEST MOMENTS

‘I was born with a pencil in my hand, I write stories, I design cartoons, a whole bunch of stuff.’
‘I wanted to prove myself to my mother, when I was younger I kept having to move in and out of her house. I wanted to get out and support myself.’
‘I like to be left alone to create, that’s not to say I don’t like an audience, but I can be by myself and entertain myself and do what I like doing.’

ABOUT THE HOST

Gavin Scott is a born entrepreneur with a passion for start up and scale up. He has over 20 years real estate experience in investment and development.

Gavin says: Over the years I have discovered that mindset is everything. Now, that might sound obvious, but it is! You see the number of awoken minds are very few in reality. Whilst acknowledging mindset is key it is absolutely different from utilising, influencing, impacting and effecting great change, for yourself, your loved ones, friends, colleagues and the wider public.

Why?

Like most of us I have had many ups and downs. I want to share the lessons learnt and promote a better environment for all, internally and externally!

How?

Through sharing my own experiences and hosting some fabulous individuals including some big household names to discuss key topics around mindset and the success formulas I hope the listener will become inspired to create space for change for betterment in their lives. I aim to inspire change by encouragement, not by force. I intend to inspire by education, not by regulation.
