Two Ad Reps and a Baby
I enjoyed the story of Jason & Lauren. Two determined ad reps trying to make a go of a family and a working life. The chemistry of these two is amazing. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
Four Stars
Good story
Too much stubbornness for a predictable plot
I enjoyed the reading, it's a mild and funny book to read on a rainy day, but I must confess that I skipped some paragraphs to avert a few moments of boredom.
Five Stars
Great book
Fine for a quick summer read
I was with this story and enjoying it for what it was right up until the major conflict -- then it all fell apart for me.
The story goes along, introducing characters, fleshing them out and providing a bit of backstory on what happened before the reader joined the story and it was all fine, maybe better than fine. I liked it. Things fall into place slowly and we get to see how the main characters will become a family. Then there is what seemed to me like one very small and quick hiccup. It's a tiny matter and happened so fast that I found myself wondering if I'd missed something. (Actually, as I think back two days later, I am unable to even remember what the problem was.) The characters take this first minor problem as a major issue that they will not even attempt to resolve and so they split. By the time I realized that this was the climax of the book, they had resolved the problem, albeit not in a way that seemed real to me.
I liked the book. As I said, I would consider it for a summer read. But some things about the story just seem rushed and odd to me. I was actually just thinking that I wouldn't recommend this to a friend and then wondered why I'm writing a semi-favorable review for it. I guess that if you're a fan of romances, or this particular type of romance, I'd give it a try in the hopes that future titles from this obviously talented author are really satisfying.
