Unemployment in South Africa has been a cause of concern for quite some time now. For many years the country has witnessed appalling and devastating of constantly growing figure of unemployment rates.
As the figures go on raising and the competition for resources intensifies, a certain lady from the North West province saw that they had to do something to ensure their survival. Physically challenged Miss Linda Mothibedi from Morokweng village decided to group a few of her close by acquintances who were also disabled and started a co-operative to manufacture ceramic products like cups, plates and others and sell them to make a living.
Semphete Primary Co-operative has been established in 2010 and has since been hard at work manufacturing their products. Even after suffering a tragic loss of four of the founding members, Miss Mothibedi still had the courage to go on by recruiting new members. The work has been going on till now.
