Bottlenecks and Team Building: Insights from Yves Gege

Listen Later

What are some of the most important qualities that an experienced physical therapist entrepreneur should possess to succeed? How can aspiring entrepreneurs develop these skills?

This week's episode will feature Yves Gege, a former owner of an in-network physical therapy clinic who is now a successful cash physical therapy entrepreneur. He founded Made 2 Move Physical Therapy in Charleston, South Carolina, is devoted to his wife Amy, and the couple has two wonderful children. He brings to this Mastermind his more than ten years of business-related PT experience, as well as a talent for breaking down difficult concepts into manageable chunks.

In this episode, Yves covered a wide range of topics including bottlenecks, team building, local marketing in general, relationship development, and even sharing practical advice and insights. He has been able to expand his cash practice over the past few years to include multiple locations and multiple providers, and he has become a mentor to new owners. Yves will touch on the exciting fact that people with various clinical backgrounds can benefit from the skills developed in the physical therapy and cash-pay world.

They will touch on such topics as:

  • Cash-based and insurance-based healthcare practices and their pros and cons.
  • One of the most predominant bottlenecks in clinical practices is pricing and undercharging because of not having marketing and sales skills.
  • Charging what you’re worth but also realizing what we think the client would buy, not necessarily what’s best for the client.
  • Charge what’s best for the client. More people are supportive of you than you ever thought, and now you can get a better result. Which means more to clients, and a better result, which means people stick around longer.
  • Educating yourself and getting better at business.
  • Local Marketing in Communities: decided to compete in building really good grassroots relationships with people that were like-minded, such as CrossFitters.
  • Filling a new clinician's schedule and utilizing new clinician/staff members to go and market, build content, and create workshops.
  • Being consistent in content creation is very hard and so rare that if you are consistent, people are going to notice.
  • His perfect day priorities and the importance of training harder and surpassing limits.

Hack: In the beginning, you gotta hustle. It will be difficult, but you will eventually reach a point where your hustle will become more constructive and helpful. Be more creative. Create a bigger impact. The harder you train, the more skills you acquire, and the more people you can impact. There’s no limit to how far you can go.
