Boulder Local Frequency: Drought Challenges Ahead for Summer Harvest
Good morning, this is your Boulder Local Frequency for 2026-06-04.
If you are heading out early, expect another warm early summer day along the Front Range, with highs climbing into the low to mid 80s in Boulder and a chance for scattered afternoon storms rolling off the high country into the I 25 corridor. Forecasters are watching for gusty winds and possibly some small hail with the stronger cells, but most of the activity should clear by early evening, setting us up for a mild night and a stretch of hotter days ahead as a broader Colorado heat wave builds in.
That warm, dry pattern is top of mind for Boulder County farmers after one of Colorado’s driest winters on record. Local farms are already cutting back on acreage, trimming CSA shares, and scaling down staff as they adapt to limited water and higher irrigation costs.
