We continue our discussion on “Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You” by Jason Reynolds, based off of the book “Stamped from the Beginning” by Ibram X. Kendi. And we also discuss how we're handling race conversations on social media.

This week we discuss Stamped by Jason Reynolds. This book is an adaptation Stamped from the Beginning by Ibram K. Kendi (National Book Award winner).

We continue our discussion about protests in America (and the rest of the world) in response to recent violent events involving the police.

We come together to reflect on protests and new conversations about racism in the wake of the killings of George Floyd, Ahmaud Aubrey, and Breonna Taylor. Many people still struggle with why it's important, necessary and okay to say Black Lives Matter.

This week we are discussing Dave Chappelle. He was featured on the Kennedy Center Honors program that recently aired on PBS. The ceremony honored Dave as the 2019 recipient of The Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize.

In this episode we discuss The Case For Reparations, written by Ta-Nehisi Coates and published in 2014 in The Atlantic Monthly.

The subject of Reparations continues to be in the news including during the recent Democratic Presidential debates, but it’s not a new subject.

Coates summarizes in his article by writing,

“Two hundred fifty years of slavery. Ninety years of Jim Crow. Sixty years of separate but equal. Thirty-five years of racist housing policy. Until we reckon with our compounding moral debts, America will never be whole.”
