NOTES
Romantic attention
Sexual Satisfaction
Love unfailing
Our dream of great romance, amazing sex and fairytale love often ends up dysfunctional and damaged.
Jesus came to restore all of life, which includes romance, sex and love.
Everyone carries scars when it comes to romance, sex, and love.
Stat’s on Scars: Sexual Abuse, Divorce Rate, Sexual Transmitted Diseases, Virginity, Pornography, Infidelity
Jesus came for the scarred and hurting – Jesus became scarred so we could be healed and restored.
While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and disreputable sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” Matthew 9:10-13
On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners. Matthew 9:10-13
Jesus teaches: Our failures and scars don’t drive God away, they break His heart and compel His mercy and grace for us.
Healing is a process where we take steps of surrender to Jesus.
Surrender to Jesus: EYES: How will I see others, MIND: How will I think of others, HEART: What will I put first
But I tell you that anyone who looks at a person lustfully has already committed adultery with them in their heart. Matthew 5:28
Surrender to Jesus: EYES: How will I see others, MIND: How will I think of others, HEART: What will I put first
…and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5
Surrender to Jesus: EYES: How will I see others, MIND: How will I think of others, HEART: What will I put first
And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. Mark 12:30
Surrender to Jesus: EYES: How will I see others, MIND: How will I think of others, HEART: What will I put first
