Box Elder County has officially withdrawn from the District 1 Local Mental Health Authority, a move triggered by a major reorganization of behavioral health services across the region. In February, the three counties—Box Elder, Cache and Rich—approved a 50-year interlocal agreement giving the Bear River Health Department direct oversight of mental health and substance abuse programs.
