Thomas Robbins
William Thomas “Bill” Robbins, age 69, of Bear, DE, passed away
suddenly at home Tuesday, October 6, 2015. Bill proudly served 9 tours of duty
in Vietnam in the US Navy. He was an All American State Commander of the VFW
and past Post Commander at the Atterbury VFW. Bill was the type of person who
made every stranger he met a friend. He loved having people laugh with him at
his comedic antics. Bill enjoyed golfing, watching western movies, and cheering
for the Eagles and Phillies. Most of all he cherished all the times he spent
with his beloved family. Thanksgiving was one of his favorite times to spend
with them.Bill is
survived by his wife of 27 years, Patty Robbins; brother, Ralph Robbins; 2
sons, Bill T. Robbins II (Suzy) and Lewis B. Robbins (Liz); 2 daughters, Dawn
Clerval (Ed) and Leanne Robbins; 7 grandchildren: Bill III, Sean, Barbara,
Robert, Michelle (TJ), Kyle, and Julia; and 4 great grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by his mother, Maude Martine.A visitation
will be held Monday, October 12, 2015 from 6-8 PM and again on Tuesday, October
13, 2015 from 9:30-11:00 AM in the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635
Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702 followed by a service in celebration of Bill’s
life at 11 AM. Burial, with military honors, will follow in the Delaware
Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to
Atterbury VFW, Attn: Dorothy Stansell, 649 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702.
