Today’s episode will focus on the story called Change of Plan, from the Brac reader series.
The story is about a young girl called Posseh, who unintentionally abandons her dream of finishing school and going to the university when she became trapped in a forced and unhappy marriage. But when her husband and family’s actions prevent her from striving towards her dreams, she decides to change the plan.
After this episode, you will be able to:
1) Define the terms child, early and forced marriage
2) Explain the law in relation to child marriage and domestic violence
3) Describe how the story of Posseh helps us understand how gender inequality affects adolescent girls in Sierra Leone.
