An Old Fashioned Hard-Boiled Detective In A High Tech Future Society.

In the 22nd Century, the human lifespan has increased exponentially. Artificial body augmentations and replacements can people living in their prime for long after what was once thought to be plausible. People are fitted with USB ports in their bodies and can plug in almost everywhere. But there is a dangerous risk to so much data access. There is a government restriction on the number of USB ports a person can have implanted, and violators are labeled as "data junkies" and whisked away to confinement.

In the midst of this modern conveniences gone wild, Detective Jack Payne is tasked with solving a mass murder at an old folk's home. It's obvious who did the killing, witnesses identified the shooter and the person died at the scene. But Jack suspects that something there is something much darker under the surface, and he begins to believe that the shooter's brain may have been hacked and someone else may have controlled his actions.

"Brain Hacked" is stark and terrifying. It takes a hard look at our addiction to instant gratification and being plugged in. It's a hard-boiled detective story set in a not far away dystopian future.

It is a very original and well written book and I recommend it highly.

Some Excellent Twists!!

Mr Euro is a man way ahead of his time. His fantastical dystopian imagination has run amok in this outstanding book. I was hooked from the first chapter and he didnât let me take a breath until the end, it was an awesome ride. Payne was perfectly rounded and so very well described that I felt like a fly on his shoulder running around thwarting crime. Brain Hacked is a âmust getâ book for any of you dystopian fools (like me) out there that just want to spend a wonderful afternoon curled up in your favourite chair with a great book, this is it. Kudoâs to the author on this one, Great Job!

A really great read!

Brain Hacked is an interesting book. The author Drake Euro runs away with the concept of a future where people can replace their human brains with computer brains that allow the person to install USB ports into their neck. The entire civilization is slowly becoming more and more robotic but that has not stopped criminals from carrying out their nefarious crimes. Our main character Detective Jack Payne is called to a horrible scene. A young man has used an antique firearm and killed all the residents of a retirement home. He's not sure though that the gunman was the person in control of the killing though. With expert writing the author takes the Detective though the case. This book is a definite page turner.
