You Choose How to Live
Les has written a fine book on how to have a good life regardless of your situation. He tells us that we control our moods, that our thoughts are ours to master, and that there is no room for stinkin' thinkin'. Count your blessings and be thankful for what you have. Thank you Les for having the strength and courage to recover and to write this book. It has helped me and my family in dealing with my recent diagnosis.
Excellent book for a wide range of people
This book is definitely a great story for those who are experiencing health problems, and for their immediate family. It also, though, has a lot to offer for an even wider range of people outside of those most directly impacted by an illness.
If you've never had health difficulties yourself, it's oftentimes hard to know how it can affect people and what they are dealing with - both those with the illness and those closest to them. This book can help with that - I would highly recommend it for anyone with a friend, relative, or even co-worker who is encountering a difficult time with any type of moderate-to-severe health condition. It's a straight-forward, engaging book that will provide you with a good perspective on what that person is going through. It will allow you to better understand their daily and weekly challenges, and therefore better help them and provide support in any way possible.
Brain Storms
One morning you wake up and feel great, and the next thing you know you and your family are faced with a Catastrophic Illness. After being discharged you go home and do research on the internet to gain more knowledge of your new condition. Within one search comes the story of Les Duncan and his amazing story of hope, courage, and strength. This book brings you through all of phases and emotions that one could expect I suppose for any illness. This book has actually helped people I know ask the right questions to healthcare professionals to make sure they are getting the best care possible. This book has really touched my family and I. We highly recommend this amazing book!
Thank you Mr. Duncan
I suffer from the same condition as Mr. Duncan and his story of courage and being positive was an inspiration to me. I am just getting over brain surgery and this book was a great help to me. He doesn't sugar coat what the ordeal entails, and I am thankful for that. However, he strongly believes that being positive and having a spiritual life is a big part of the battle. I would say this book should be distributed by neurosurgeons as the patient walks in for consultation.
I just want to thank him for taking the time to help others who are going through very trying times.
Huge help to me and my family!!
We are going through a similar situation to the one you write about. Traumatic brain injury and aquired brain injury as a result of bleeds and surgeries is tough life. Thanks for providing positive guidance and insight Les! Let's keep the faith!
