Episode 028 – Brandon Kearns – is a graduate of University of North Carolina with degrees in Political Science and Spanish. For the first five years after graduating, Brandon held a wide range of jobs including waiter, teaching English to students in Korea as well as in NY City. But in 2015 Brandon decided to enter the Web Development Immersive bootcamp at General Assembly.
He started working at Home Depot when he finished the coding bootcamp. During the years Brandon has worked his way up from a Junior Developer to a Senior Developer. Today he is a teacher at Orange Method. Home Depot is in a transition of bringing every tech service that they currently use from outside vendors and bringing that tech in house. In 2018 Home Depot hired almost 1,200 developers to work on this transition. Facing the challenge of finding enough tech talent Home Depot started Orange Method which is their own internal 3-month coding bootcamp to teach anyone how to program. Brandon has been an instructor at Orange Method since it was implemented.

Brandon is a coding bootcamp graduate. Today he works as a Staff Software Engineer at The Home Depot where he is reponsible for training associates in modern web development technologies and practices.
