Bread And Circuses Or How To Buy America With An Obamaphone.

Even the ruling class of the Roman Empire knew that to keep a hold on their power, they would need to ensure the support of the masses. Did they do this by pursuing what was best for the Roman Empire and it's people? Hell no, they just simply bought them off, by providing plenty on free bread and an afternoon at the Coliseum.

Just get the people hooked on free and you own them body and soul, there are over 80 means tested programs with 100 million recepients at the federal level alone. In the past 40 years we have spent over 14 trillion dollars on the "War On Poverty" and we have more poverty now than we have ever had. The welfare state has run up massive bills and those bills have come due. If we don't have this debate now and make some crucial changes our way of life will be over as we have come to know it.
