Pretty dated

Some of Fritz Leiber's "lightest" short fiction

Fritz Leiber was one of the greatest science fiction and fantasy writers of the mid-twentieth century. His themes often touched on the ridiculous aspects of our society's mores and fashions. One of his particular foils was modern advertising, which is the gist of this satirical piece, an advertising gimmick gone horribly wrong. This is a very short story, so I can't give too much away. Just to say it starts as much ado about (almost) nothing, because of a comedy of errors, but alls well that ends well. While the story is a little dated (remember it was written in 1958), it is a nice "light" introduction to Leiber and a very quick read (you certainly can't beat the Kindle price). Enjoy.

Pure silliness

A silly little tale about the perils of fad foods. Or something like that. It's surpassingly silly, so don't expect to find a big philosophical point in this. Just enjoy it.

Man. Now I REALLY want some bread.
