Breakaway Bishop Speaks Out About Abortion
Tim talks to Bishop Andy Lines, presiding bishop of the Anglican Network in Europe. This is a network for orthodox, biblically faithful Anglicans, who have taken a stand against the prevailing liberal drift and heretical teaching within the Church of England.
Tim and Bishop Andy discuss the role the Church of England has played historically, vis-a-vis the abortion debate and legislation, including the failure of Church of England bishops to speak out on this issue today. They look at Anglican preachers and theologians, such as John Stott and Oliver O'Donovan, who have positively contributed, before Bishop Andy shares about his own intervention in the last Parliament.
Finally, the relation of the Church to broader cultural engagement, social reform, and politics is explored. Should Christians be speaking prophetically into the issues of our day, such as abortion?
