Next up we spoke with Cornel de Ronde who is the leader of the GNS team currently undertaking the logistically daunting task of mapping the bottom of Lake Rotomahana. This of course is to search for signs of the famous Pink and White Terraces, which vanished after the 1886 eruption of Mt Tarawera. We learnt a little more about the unmanned sub marines they’re sending down and also if there are any colour photos of the terraces, because we sure can’t find any!
