With the easy availability of programming copilots, there was an urgent need for changes on how Big Tech conduct their coding interviews. The two companies are taking very different approaches, with Meta embracing vibe coding and Google continuing to focus on fundamentals. In this episode, we explain the differences and discuss how that changes both the interviewing process as well as what SWEs need to do to prepare for a future with AI.
