From battlefield leadership to community advocacy, Major General (Ret.) Gale S. Pollock is a trailblazer in military medicine and veteran care. As the former Acting Surgeon General of the U.S. Army and the first woman to serve in that role, MG Pollock brings a lifetime of experience in both operational command and compassionate service.
A certified registered nurse anesthetist and decorated leader, she broke barriers as the Commander of the Army Medical Department, serving globally and at the Pentagon. After retiring from a distinguished military career, she turned her focus to vision health and disability advocacy, especially for wounded warriors and the blind.
MG Pollock now dedicates her life to empowering veterans through groundbreaking programs, including work with service dogs, blind rehabilitation initiatives, and helping military families navigate life after service. Her mission: ensure that no veteran is left behind, especially those facing unseen battles.
