Bladder stones in dogs and cats, also known as uroliths, are a common condition that can cause significant discomfort and even life-threatening complications if left untreated. These stones form when minerals in the urine solidify and accumulate in the bladder, forming small, rock-like masses. They can vary in size and composition, with some being as small as a grain of sand while others can be as large as a golf ball. There are several factors that contribute to the formation of bladder stones in dogs and cats, including genetics, diet, and underlying medical conditions.
