BREAKING INTO THE LEAGUE

Full time hosts Ryan and Sam are bringing you two more studs breaking into the NHL as the playoff push gets rolling! It is always a very exciting time to be an NHL fan with playoffs slated to start early May and both of this episode's rookies are on playoff-bound teams. Nashville Predators Center Thomas Novak (3:00) is featured as putting many games in the NHL earlier this season. Florida Panthers Forward Anton Lundell's success (13:10) is discussed along with what this electric and highly-skilled rookie can bring to the table with his Stanley Cup caliber squad.

Sam and Ryan discuss the likes of New Jersey Devils Center Dawson Mercer (2:45) and Colorado Avalanche LW hopeful Mikhail Maltsev (12:45). To go along with previewing these promising youngsters, both hosts debate the Avs/Wild playoff outlook as well as who most likely will win the 2021-2022 Calder. Ryan and Sam sit down and produce an exclusive virtual interview with AHL Defenseman Wyatt Newpower of the Grand Rapids Griffins. Wyatt, a native of White Bear Lake, Minnesota talks about his days playing for his hometown as well as developing into a standout at UCONN as captain of the Huskies. From UCONN, Wyatt has signed an entry-level deal with the Detroit Red Wings and is on the cusp of breaking into the NHL!

Hosts Sam & Ryan are bringing you more of an inside scoop on two more skilled NHL rookies! This edition is a special one since Red Wings enthusiast Ryan Compeau is brought on as a special guest. Both hosts and Compeau touch on the background of Detroit Red Wings Forward Lucas Raymond (3:40). He has been producing big numbers for his squad's early season success and is up for this year's Calder award. Along with Raymond is Chicago Blackhawks prospect Defenseman Nolan Allan (19:00). Allan is bringing solid numbers to the Prince Albert Raiders of the WHL.

Sam and Ryan are BACK! In this edition they discuss draft picks #3 & #4 in the 2021 NHL Expansion Draft. Both hosts touch on the skill of both players as well as why they are terrific fits for their respective organizations. Drafted 3rd overall, Anaheim Ducks Forward Mason McTavish (4:05) has spent some time in the league this season. Along with McTavish, is 4th overall draft pick Michigan Wolverine Defenseman Luke Hughes (12:15). Hughes is on pace to join brothers Quinn (Canucks) and Jack (Devils) in the NHL in the near future.

Drafted 1st overall, Canadian Defenseman Owen Power (2:10) is drafted by the Buffalo Sabres. Along with Owen, is fellow Michigan Wolverine Forward Matthew Bernier (13:10). The Seattle Kraken drafted Bernier 2nd overall in late July 2021.
