Making a mistake, even what you consider a BIG mistake, isn't necessarily a problem until you start beating yourself up over something that's already done and can't be undone. Your mind is tricky, and sometimes it can get stuck in a loop, especially if you feel shame, humiliation, deep regret, sadness, embarrassment, mortification, or possibly discredited. Maybe you find yourself saying, over and over, "Why did I do that? How could I have been so stupid? I'm a complete idiot!"
