We continuously fall for their trap. We buy things we don't need, get rid of things that are still good and replace them with more useless items. We get trapped in the cycle that corporate America wants us to be in so we are constantly indebted to them, but yet we complain as if it is their fault that we can't get out of debt, can't buy a house or save our money.
Proverbs 30:7-9 7 Two things I ask of you, LORD; do not refuse me before I die: 8 Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches but give me only my daily bread. 9 Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, "Who is the LORD?" or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God. God tells us time and time again that he will provide what we need, because he knows what we need. We are to be good stewards of the daily bread that he provides. That means that we need to take a closer look into the things that we spend our money on if we are unable to save, pay our bills or get out of debt.
I understand that I do not have a job at the moment, I am resting in my God given job of being a mother instead of running the rat race that corporate America tells me I have to run in order to be successful or feel accomplished. Boy let me tell you, I wish I stopped believing their lies a long time ago. I wish I would have focused on the God instead of my selfish desires to continuously want more. I could have bought 3 houses by now.
The great news is that it is never too late to start trusting in God to provide. He already is providing he is just waiting for you to focus on the things he is providing for and not on the things your sinful heart desires. Open your bible, invest in your God. Stop investing in the fleeting things of this world. I promise you won't regret it. Say goodbye to their lies and live in God's truth today!
