Join the enigma and legend is that is Brendan Hickey on Radio Lee every Sunday between 8pm and 10pm. He is best known for promoting local talent on radio, at gigs and online for the last quarter of a century, with On The Verge Productions. Brendan is the guy who came across the raw talents of artists like Paddy Casey, Mundy, Damien Dempsey, Gemma Hayes and Declan O’Rourke (to name but a few) and was the first to put them on air! His show on Radio Lee will continue to give musicians with original material the chance to have their work broadcast.

Brendan also been writing poetry since the late sixties. However, he only released his debut album “Vergions” produced by Karl Odlum in 2010. Brendan’s second album “Melting into Oneness”, also produced by Karl Odlum, was released in 2013 and continued with the formula of using local composers to write accompanying pieces for his words. Due to global events, the launch of his third album “Convergence” produced by Colin Scallan, was postponed from last year. This album was sound designed by Brendan and gives a nod to the genres of music that he has enjoyed during his three score and ten years on the planet.

Over the last fifteen years, Brendan has done memorable live gigs with his band The Launch Crew (Robin James Hurt, Mick Morris, Cion O’Callaghan, Colin Scallan) including at The Electric Picnic, Ruby Sessions, JJ Smyth’s, Whelan’s etc. but this album launch gig at The Wild Duck will be their first musical reunion for a number of years.
