Sonny is a veteran of the US Air Force National Guard and served from 1985 to 1992. The Air Force provided the opportunity for Sonny to attend Louisiana State University. In 1991, Sonny graduated from LSU with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering. After working for 10 years in the chemical industry as a chemical engineer, Sonny attended Carnegie Mellon University. In 2002, Sonny was awarded an MBA with Honors from CMU.

Throughout his career, Sonny's philosophy has been to carefully listen to his clients, evaluate all options, and provide sound advice that is in the clients' best interest.
